The Blue Jays Earn World Series Matchup With defending champion Dodgers

George Springer celebrating

George Springer contributed to the Houston Astros securing the championship in 2017.

Canada's MLB team reached their initial Fall Classic since 1993 by defeating the Seattle Mariners in the final game seven of the ALCS.

Trailing by two runs, the star outfielder delivered a three-run blast in the seventh inning, guiding the Toronto squad in MLB to a 4-3 series victory in the series. They will now face the defending champions, who are the reigning title, in the forthcoming Fall Classic.

"I'm just so happy for this squad, Toronto, the nation," Springer stated, an integral part of the Houston Astros team that won the 2017 championship. "It's truly an unbelievable moment."

George Springer has now slugged 23 playoff homers, placing him third all-time behind Ramirez (29) and Jose Altuve (twenty-seven).

"There's probably not another player on planet Earth that I'd choose in that moment other than him with his post-season brilliance," said Schneider.

Seattle, who had led the series two games to none and three games to two, remain the one club yet to make an appearance in a championship series.

Mariners manager Dan Wilson commented "without a doubt that it's going to sting" following his team's loss at their home ballpark, but applauded their efforts in the campaign.

"They're an exceptional squad. Sadly that we finished on the losing end of the series," he continued.

The Blue Jays claimed the World Series on each of their earlier trips in 1992 and 1993, and will host the Dodgers in the first game on Friday.
