Should My Partner Wear the Garments I Buy for Him?

When my partner avoids wearing an item I've presented him, I get hurt. Purchasing gifts is my approach of demonstrating I care
I genuinely appreciate purchasing items for my partner, him. It's about love; I become enthusiastic whenever I notice something that makes me think of him.
I particularly enjoy buy him outfits – I feel it provides him a modest morale increase. Although I already admire his sense of style, it's my method of demonstrating I love.
My income is greater earnings than him, so it's not problematic to get him items. I realize not everyone demonstrate caring through items, but since I have the means, what's the harm?
But when he fails to wear something I've presented him, specifically after I've given consideration into it, I feel disappointed.
Recently, I purchased him a set of blue jeans. However I noticed he hadn't worn them, and questioned if he liked them.
He walked down the following day sporting them, stating: "Hello, I've have your jeans on!" That made me experiencing stupid.
It seemed as if he was merely sporting them because I had asked. To some extent felt delighted, but another part felt as if he was doing it to quiet me.
I don't anticipate him to wear all gifts promptly or to demonstrate thanks, but whenever periods pass and I never see him putting on my presents, I start to question if he appreciated them in the beginning.
I desire him to appear his optimal – so, yes, I have opinions about what matches him.
One time, I tried to remove his footwear. I dislike them. My boyfriend got really annoyed. Possibly I went too far a little.
He stated I attempted to eliminate his character, but I wasn't. I only wanted him to recognize what I see: that he could seem amazing if he improved his wardrobe slightly.
He has got excellent fashion sense when he wants to, and I get disappointed when he sticks to the identical items out of habit.
I suppose that's since he doesn't take as much enthusiasm in clothing as I do and is without as much funds to spend in his wardrobe.
Yet, from my perspective, occasionally it's not about the outfits at all; it's about desiring to sense that my kindnesses are recognized.
I love that he is self-reliant and stubborn; it's component of what makes him him. But I furthermore desire he'd recognize that when I buy him items, I'm just trying to connect with him.
The Defence: His View

I believe her habit of buying me things and then getting annoyed when I avoid wearing them is concerning.
Not anyone should be pressured to utilize a present each time the donor desires. That detracts from the meaning of a gift, which is intended to be generous.
Concerning the denim, I just hadn't got around to wearing them as it was extremely hot this summer.
But when she questioned if I enjoyed them, I wore them the exact subsequent day.
My girlfriend afterward accused me of just putting on them to appease her, which was kind of correct. But my thinking is: avoid asking me to sport an item you bought and then blame me of not really desiring to sport it.

She said I was thankless when I mentioned this, but it's really not the case.

Yet I am without that many garments, and I'm familiar with sporting the same old outfits. It takes me a bit of time to adjust to possessing recent additions in my wardrobe.
I'm likewise unfamiliar with people purchasing me things, as this is my initial partnership. There's probably furthermore a little of me behaving determined.
Whenever she attempted to discard my Crocs, I didn't react favorably.
I actually like the denim she purchased me, but at times if she has a good idea, my initial reaction is to reject to do it, simply because I've been alone for so long and I don't like receiving instructions what to do.
