Grief as Popular South African DJ Gunned Down in the Heart of Johannesburg.

A prominent South African media personality and entertainer has been shot dead in the metropolis of Johannesburg, triggering widespread grief across a country grappling with rampant crime.

Warrick Stock, popularly known as DJ Warras, was attacked in the downtown area on Tuesday afternoon.

Police said the 40-year-old entertainer was approached by a trio of assailants, one of whom began shooting at him before escaping on foot.

The DJ tried to run away after he was wounded but collapsed on the opposite side of the road.

Police added that Stock had an weapon on his person and nothing was taken during the attack.
